Science
At Forty Hill, we believe that Science should be engaging and practical. This enables our children to develop the confidence to actively explore the world around them.
We believe that seeing and experiencing science in action is the most successful way for children to develop as scientists - who can plan, conduct and evaluate their own experiments and understand the importance of trial and error.
Children are given the opportunity to have first-hand experiences which allow them to answer scientific big questions themselves and grow in confidence to actively explore these. Through this approach, children are not only able to develop their skills in scientific experiments but also deepen their knowledge of the topics we cover.
To support our teaching, we use Collins Snap Science, and through annual Science Weeks we continue to inspire the children and spark their curiosity in the world in which they live.
