Forty Hill C.E. School

Admissions

Forty Hill School was founded to serve the local community and we welcome children not only from Christian families, but from other faiths and backgrounds.

Services are held each week on Sundays at 8.00am and 10.30am and on Wednesday at 9.15am

We have an open door policy which welcomes parents into the school and we encourage parents to make an appointment to see the school before making their decision about the school's suitability for their child.

The number of children on the school roll at present is 234 being seven classes of thirty plus up to 24 children in our Nursery.

Children may enter the Reception Class at the beginning of the academic year in which they are five. During their visit to the school, the Admission Procedure will be explained to the parents and they will be given a Supplementary Information Form.

In addition, it will be necessary to complete a Supplementary Information For Application Form by the middle of January of the year in which the child is expected to start school. This form should be returned to the school, but the Governing Body cannot accept responsibility for non-delivery and it is the parent's responsibility to ensure that the completed form must be submitted by the relevant closing date which will be decided annually.

Admission to the school will be determined by the Governing Body and is dependent upon the number of applications received and the admission criteria in place at that time, which are subjected to an annual review. The current criteria is below along with the application forms for Nursery and Reception, as well as mid-year admissions. We have updated our guidance on church attendance in the light of Covid-19 (see below).
