World Book Day 2024
What a wonderful, exciting World Book Day we have had at Forty Hill! When we came into school this morning there were lots of strange things in our school... a giant sock in Year 3, an enormous comb in Nursery, a massive pencil in Year 5, a bunch of big grapes in year 1, a huge book bag full of big books in Reception, a giant bottle in Year 4, a very large toothbrush in Year 6, a very big button in Year 2 as well as HUGE footprints in the corridors! A Giant had visited in the night and left lots of clues! Ms Izard had to call an emergency assembly for the whole school and we shared all the evidence and met the Giant too! Every class then had the wonderful experience of an interactive workshop led by professional storytellers (including Joshua and Zachary Eckles' mum!) where they explored the book Grandad's Secret Giant by David Litchfield. School Council interviewed David Litchfield last week so it was a great opportunity to use one of his books as the theme for our adventures and learning on this very special day!
