World Book Day 2025
World Book Day at Forty Hill is always a magical experience, and this year was no exception! The day started with a rainbow waterfall of incredible costumes (and pyjamas) throughout the playground. Followed by a very special live newsroom broadcast in the hall which featured children interviewing a real author- Maggie Butt-Brookes, a hilarious sports report from Mr Kansara and coach, plus the Snow Queen creating mayhem with her weather report and snow being scattered all over the audience! The magic beans that Year 1 and Year 2 had planted the day before had grown into a giant beanstalk in the hall but thankfully no giants! Reception spent a lot of the day chugging around in their home-made Book Boats and the library was transformed into a cosy, sparkly book cave for the day! Finally, there were plenty of opportunities for sharing books throughout the day including a teacher swap where our class teachers read their favourite books to other classes and class reading swaps where our older children shared books with our younger children. It was a truly fantastic day spent celebrating the wonder and joy of BOOKS! Thank you to Mrs Eckles who helped us organise some of these lovely experiences and to all the parents and carers who helped the children dress up for the day. Keeeeeeeeep reading!
