Macmillan Cancer Support 
Our usual coffee morning and bake off had to be altered this year. Instead, our amazing APF came up with the idea of decorating T-shirts and having a tea party at home.

Polio Awareness - The Rotary
Thanks to your generosity, the school raised over £230 for the Rotary Club of Edmonton and their fundraising efforts to support the eradication of Polio across the world. Polio cases have reduced by 99.9% since 1985 but there is still some way to go to completely eradicate it. For every £1 donated, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation give another £2, so Forty Hill will have raised approximately £700! This is will pay for 3500 vaccines to protect a child from getting polio. The Year 1 children planted crocus corms at Jesus church as part of their Outreach Project to keep the awareness alive throughout the year. 

 

 

Remembrance Day - Royal British Legion 
This year, our Remembrance Service was held in the school playground, with enough room for the whole school to join together, socially distanced. Thanks to Rev’d Ian Crofts and Year 6 for leading this solemn service. The children have learnt why we mark remembrance day, placed wreaths of remembrance, sang, listened to the names of the Old Boys of Forty Hill who fell in the Great War and listened to the Prayer of St Francis. The children then observed a period of silence showing huge respect. It was a proud and touching moment. Parents and children were asked to print and colour images of poppies to stick in the windows of their homes and all around the school.

Children in Need
It was lovely to see the children wearing their spotty outfits for Children in Need – it certainly made for a colourful virtual achievement assembly. We raised a fabulous £320!

 

Comic Relief 
It was incredibly red in March when the whole school wore red and/or something silly to raise awareness and money for this wonderful charity. Over £320 was raised.
