V.E. Day 80th Anniversary
Forty Hill turned red, white and blue on Thursday 8th May to celebrate the 80th anniversary of V.E.Day. Bunting decorated the front of the school and all our children and staff came in dressed in red, white and blue to the tunes of Glenn Miller and other wartime favourites. Our special act of worship had a special guest, Maureen Wisbey (who is also Miss Wisbey's Nan), who attended Forty Hill when she was little and lived through V.E.Day. The children were mesmerised by her wonderful recollections of life at Forty Hill during the war, and we are very grateful to her coming in on this special day. The children were also treated to a fantastic World War vehicle in the playground, which was kindly brought to the school by the Whitewebbs Transport Museum, who also added the surprise of a bomb (disarmed!) in the flower bed! What a wonderful day to remember!
